Landri Taylor
Landri Taylor is president and CEO of the Urban League. He comes to the Urban League with tremendous passion, an impeccable reputation and firm integrity. Prior to taking the helm of the Urban League, Landri was the Vice President of Community Affairs for Forest City Stapleton, Inc., the development company that is transforming the former Stapleton International Airport into a community of 12,000 homes and apartments, 35,000 jobs and more than 1,100 acres of parks and open space. In that position, Landri was responsible for small business development, job training and Minority-owned and Woman-owned Business Enterprise outreach.
Prior to working for Forest City Stapleton, Inc., Landri owned Alpha Associates, a community consultant business. Landri has served on numerous boards and commissions throughout the Denver area. Of particular note was Denver’s 1998 $100 million dollar Neighborhood Bond Campaign that Landri was asked to co-chair by former Denver Mayor Wellington Webb. Landri served as board treasurer on the Regional Transportation District Board in 1994 and helped to spearhead the completion of Denver’s first light rail transit corridor. Landri served on the board of Rocky Mountain PBS from 2003 – ’09 and its board chair from 2007-’09. Landri’s community service also includes service on Denver’s Library Commission, Mayor’s Commission on Workforce Development and the Community College of Denver Foundation. Landri was Chair of the Denver Democratic Party in 1997 - ‘99, and has helped on many local, state and federal campaigns. Landri was recognized by the Urban Spectrum in 2001 as an “African American Who Makes a Difference”.
Landri currently serves on the boards Qualistar, Blair-Caldwell African American Research Library, American Association for Blacks in Energy (Board Treasurer), Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation, and the Stapleton Foundation. Landri was inducted into the Colorado Black Hall of Fame in 2008.
Landri received his B.A. in Biology from the University of California, Berkeley in 1974, and resides in Denver with wife, Gloria, and has three grown children.
