
Kate Riley
Kate Riley joined APTS in May 2010. As Director of Government Relations, she handles appropriations, homeland security, telecommunications and digital rights.
Prior to joining APTS, Kate served as Legislative Director for Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez. Her responsibilities included creating and implementing a comprehensive legislative strategy, overseeing appropriations activity, managing the legislative staff and directly handling a number of issues including, telecommunications, technology, taxes and transportation. Before being promoted to Legislative Director, Kate was Rep. Sanchez' Homeland Security Legislative Assistant, handling all issues in the jurisdiction of the Committee on Homeland Security and Rep. Sanchez' work as Chairwoman of the Subcommittee on Border, Maritime and Global Counterterrorism. Previously, Kate worked for Congressman Sam Farr as a Legislative Assistant, handling some Appropriations Committee work.
Kate graduated cum laude from Marquette University with a B.A. in Political Science, Spanish and Writing Intensive English.
