John BaackesLay Trustee Representing
WMHT, Schenectady, NY

Mr. Baackes is a New York State Senate-appointed member of the Medicaid Managed Care Advisory Review Panel. He was the keynote speaker at the 1999 Academy for International Health Studies “Managed Care Culture” Conference, in Penang Island, Malaysia and was the moderator for the Rising Cost of Health Care panel at the New York State 2000 Small Business Day.

Mr. Baackes currently serves on the boards of directors of the following: Center for Disability Services, WMHT Educational Telecommunications, University at Albany Foundation, Fort Orange Village and Flow Management Technologies. Additionally, he has served on the advisory board for the Institute for the Advancement for Health Care Management; the executive committee of the New York State HMO Conference; the faculty of the National HMO Fellowship Program; and as a board member for Unity House, Heritage Artists, Union College Graduate Management Institute and Chase Manhattan Bank Advisory Board.
