Legislative Assistant

Ilona Piaskowy joined APTS in October 2005 as Legislative Assistant. She is responsible for coordinating the Legislative Department’s activities including drafting correspondence, organizing meetings, writing articles and editing the legislative section of the APTS Website, and keeping up-to-date on happenings in Congress.

Ilona graduated cum laude from The American University with a B.A. in political science. She garnered experience on Capitol Hill as an intern with former Representative Tim Roemer (D-IN) and Senator Evan Bayh (D-IN). She also interned at the Polish American Congress and worked at Greenberg, Quinlan, Rosner Research. During the 2004 Iowa Caucus, she was a field organizer with former Representative Dick Gephardt’s (D-MO) presidential campaign.
