PBS WARN is a technology and grant program that that allows PTV stations to easily expand their public safety capabilities – and meet federal obligations – through the free, over-the-air delivery of Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA). PBS WARN provides stations with all of the necessary equipment for the delivery of WEA messages, and provides sub-grants for power backup equipment to ensure the alerts are transmitted, even during power outages.
