Description: The JPMorgan Chase Foundation strives to catalyze change in targeted neighborhoods (typically with high rates of poverty and historic disinvestment) in cities where it operates. The Foundation pursues three giving strategies:

  • Community Development, including workforce development, financial literacy, continuing education, adult literacy outreach, job training, money management basics, homeownership/homebuyer workshops, foreclosure prevention, small business technical assistance, job creation efforts, community economic planning, affordable housing initiatives.
  • Education, specifically efforts to ensure that underserved children have access to high quality educational opportunities (especially K-12). Grants support development of instructional leaders, implementation of innovative curricula, teacher development, extended learning, college access programs, dissemination of best practices.
  • Arts & Culture, including in-school and after-school arts programs, capacity-building for community-based arts organizations, increasing access to the arts by partnering with major arts groups.

In addition, the Strategic Philanthropic Initiatives and Sponsorships team is an integral division of the Foundation. This division "tactfully partners" with organizations to increase the value of the firm's philanthropic investments, by integrating Community Programming with Sponsorship Opportunities.
