Type of foundation: Company-sponsored

Types of grants: General operating, program, capital and some in-kind contributions of equipment.

Description: The Foundation makes grants in the following areas:

  • Economic Opportunity: Priority interests include organizations that provide or support affordable housing, homebuyer counseling and economic education for low- and moderate-income populations. The Foundation also supports work skills training and personal financial management training. Other grants support efforts to promote child-care and transportation options that help people transition from welfare to work, and projects that advance economic development in low- and moderate-income areas.
  • Education: The Foundation supports financial literacy training as well as programs that help low-income and at-risk students to succeed in school and prepare for post-secondary education.
  • Arts and Culture: The Foundation seeks to enhance the cultural and artistic life in communities in which it operates. Specifically, the Foundation supports projects that build audiences for the arts, especially among underserved populations; promote the arts in education; or bring the arts to underserved, rural communities.

Twenty-six percent of giving is for “economic opportunity,” 24 percent for education and 19 percent for arts and culture.
