U.S. Department of Education announces Teacher Incentive Fund grant recipients

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan announced the 62 winners of the Teacher Incentive Fund grant competition. The awardees represent school districts, nonprofit groups and state education organizations from 27 states. While the Teacher Incentive Fund program is a five-year program, the U.S. Department of Education has currently provided the first two years of funding for each recipient -- $442 million. Further funding is contingent on congressional action.
