2012 Year-Ahead: What the Federal Budget Talks Mean for Public Media
Grant Center Webinar
Wednesday, December 14, 2011
2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. EST
Although the 2012 fiscal year technically began on October 1 of this year, the federal government has yet to put together a full budget for the year. After two years and a near-shutdown, this budget will be the first put together by the 112th Congress. It will also be the first enacted after the recommendations from the so-called "Super Committee," the bipartisan group of Senators and Representatives charged with identifying at least $1.5 trillion in federal budget cuts, released in November.
What is the status of the programs that public media relies on? Where might there be new opportunities to take advantage of? On this webinar, the Grant Center connected you with the experts who broke down the latest news from the 2012 budget -- and informed viewers about what it means for future federal funding for public media.
