STRATEGIES FOR GRANTSEEKING SUCCESS: DEFINING THE WORK

Strategies for Grantseeking Success: Defining the Work

Grant Center Webinar
Thursday, April 12, 2012
2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. EDT

Before you can seek a grant, you have to know why you need it and what you will do with it. Determining what your project is (even if it is general operating) includes gathering information about what the needs are in your community and how your station can help to meet those needs. What are the best ways to identify the needs of the community you serve? As you define your project, what questions do you need to ask and who needs to be involved? How do you find fundable intersections between the community's needs and your station's current work? This webinar provides a discussion of these questions and more.

Presenters included Cristina Hanson, Deputy Director of the National Center for Media Engagement (NCME), Maureen Paschke, Consultant and former Senior Grants Director at Ideastream, and Amie Miller, Grants and Foundation Advisor at DEI and the Grant Center.

This is the first webinar in the Grant Center's series: Strategies for Grantseeking Success.

NCME's Engagement Guide for Producers, mentioned during Cristina Hanson's presentation.
