Joint Reply Comments of Broadcasters for Fair Auction Pricing, March 13, 2015

The Broadcasters for Fair Auction Pricing (“Joint Broadcasters”), respectfully submit these reply comments to encourage the FCC to adopt the formula for setting reverse auction opening prices proposed by the Expanding Opportunities for Broadcasters Coalition (“EOBC”) in its opening comments in this proceeding (the “EOBC Compromise Proposal”).

The Joint Broadcasters consist of broadcasters who, together, own and operate more than 140 auction-eligible television stations. These stations represent a cross-section of the television industry, and include network affiliates and independents; commercial, noncommercial, and religious stations; stations located in DMAs of all sizes, including several in the top-25; and members of both the National Association of Broadcasters and the Association of Public Television Stations. One of the Joint Broadcasters, Ellis Communications Group, LLC, is the parent of station KDOC-TV, a full power television station in the Los Angeles DMA. Each of the Joint Broadcasters is evaluating whether and how to participate in the incentive auction—decisions that will be influenced, in large part, by the pricing policies that the Commission adopts for the reverse auction.
