2010 Public Broadcasting Caucus Request Letters

Once again, APTS is asking all public television stations to contact their House Members and ask them to sign on to both Public Broadcasting Caucus funding letters -- one to the House Labor-HHS Appropriations Subcommittee and the other to the House CJS Appropriations Subcommittee.

As you will recall from past years, these letters are critical to helping secure much needed funding for public broadcasting. This is especially true this year as public broadcasting faces the hurdle of overcoming the President's proposed cuts to Ready To Learn, Ready To Teach and PTFP.

Each and every signature on these letters send a signal to appropriators that there is significant support for the funding increases public broadcasting is seeking. Last year both letters garnered 106 signatures. We are hoping to beat those records this year.

The deadline for gathering signatures has been extended to COB Wednesday, March 17.
