APTS, along with CPB, PBS and NPR, is embarking on an aggressive campaign to significantly increase CPB funding over the next five years. In order to achieve this goal, APTS launched the ThinkBig initiative to reinvent how we make our case to Capitol Hill and how we can best use our grassroots and grasstops forces. APTS is now offering a free, customized, in-station advocacy consultation for station staff and Board members to prepare your station to be active in this crucial campaign.

An APTS representative will work with your staff and Board to provide advice for engaging your supporters in advocacy efforts, crafting an effective message for Capitol Hill and assessing current resources within your station.

This consultation will be an invaluable tool for your station as we move forward with ThinkBig. However, we ask that all participating stations be willing to put forth the transformative effort necessary to achieve the goal of ThinkBig. This includes a commitment:

§         to secure Board participation in advocacy efforts;

§         to create or maintain a legislative committee of your Board; and

§         to bring at least one Board member/citizen activist to each APTS Capitol Hill Day
