Stations Answer the Call for Public Broadcasting

A number of station leaders have been particularly enthusiastic about "No Member Left Behind".

Joe Widoff of WHRO in Virginia has already generated approximately 30 letters to his congressional delegation, while APTS Board Chair Julie Andersen from South Dakota Public Broadcasting is a close second.

Randy Feldman of WYES in Louisiana is the first to report that one of his Senators has responded to the outreach by sending a letter of support to Senate Appropriators.

Mike McCartney of PBS Hawaii has been particularly enthusiastic in his response by inviting his Members of Congress to the station to make a particularly effective presentation.

Kathleen Pavelko listed an announcement of the funding challenges public broadcasting faces in her member program guide, spreading the word and engaging all supporters of WITF in Pennsylvania in the outreach.

Steve Bass of Nashville Public Television reports that his letters are starting to hit his congressional offices. So far, members of his congressional delegation have received letters from a rock star and a prominent Baptist preacher. Additionally, the Republican members of his delegation will be contacted by the person ran all the entertainment for the Republican National Convention in NY. Finally, Nashville Public Television is also inviting each Member of their congressional delegation to the station for a one-on-one interview program.
