KACV FEEDING MINDS: TEXAS TAKES ON HUNGER AND OBESITY

KACV Feeding Minds: Texas Takes on Hunger and Obesity

KACV Public Television, based in Amarillo, Texas, coordinated a program called Feeding Minds: Texas Takes on Hunger and Obesity. The production premiered on all Texas PBS Stations, including KACV in February. The Texas Feeding Minds Project is an awareness effort of Texas PBS Stations to combat childhood obesity and hunger in Texas.

The project is bringing attention to environmental and behavioral factors surrounding the two often overlapping problems and will provide information and resources via on-air, online and community outreach venues. It highlights seven Texas cities to see what food banks, schools, community organizations, congregations and individuals are doing to combat childhood hunger and obesity.

To take part in the Feeding Minds outreach effort, visit Feeding Minds YouTube Channel. This effort, supported by a grant from Blue Bell Ice Cream, showcases what individuals and organizations are doing around the state to combat hunger and obesity.

The program is made possible by a grant from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas.
