The Digital Rights Coalition is designed to expand Public Television’s role in the new media environment by updating copyright laws to make its rich content more widely available to the American Public. It also supports the creation of the American Archive by examining the copyright implications of digitizing and disseminating Public Television content from the past 50 years.

The Education Services Coalition is designed to foster support for existing legislation to embrace Public Television’s role in improving student achievement; develop and pursue legislation that expands “educational use” rights for content; and continue to pursue new funding sources for partnerships between PTV stations and educational institutions. The Homeland Security Coalition works not only to inform key decision-makers and funders about how datacasting, interconnectivity and digital programming can contribute to the nation’s safety, but also to show how stations can maintain their commitment to K-12 education, professional development and workforce skills by multi-purposing our infrastructure.

The Rural Services Coalition is designed to meet the needs of public television stations serving rural communities and focuses its activities on matters of interest to these stations, including infrastructure, translators and digital content.
