APTS Hires Isaacson, Miller to Lead Search for New President
WASHINGTON—April 9, 2008—The Association of Public Television Stations (APTS) has hired executive search firm Isaacson, Miller to conduct a nationwide search for a new president and CEO of the association.
“Isaacson, Miller has built a reputation for finding the best talented people for nonprofits, and we are confident they will find the best qualified individual who will be committed to moving Public Television forward in the digital age,” said APTS Senior Vice President and General Counsel Lonna Thompson.
The search is to find the successor to John Lawson, who left APTS in March. APTS expects to name a new president and CEO this fall.
About Isaacson, Miller:
Isaacson, Miller was founded in 1982, at a time when not-for-profit organizations and public agencies rarely used executive search firms. Isaacson, Miller's expertise in this area has grown out of its founders' public service backgrounds and commitment to finding talented people to lead and enhance civic institutions. Today, it undertakes nationwide searches for a wide variety of organizations, including leading universities, research institutes, academic medical centers, foundations, cultural institutions, economic development organizations, human service agencies, and national advocacy groups.
About APTS:
APTS was established to support the continued growth and development of a strong and financially sound noncommercial television service for the American public. As broadcasters make the transition to digital, APTS is working to ensure the federal government continues its commitment to universal public television services.
