APTS members get discounted rates for CPB Compliance Review (THIS POGRAM IS NOW CLOSED)

Compliance with CPB requirements has never been more important for public broadcasters. APTS is offering its members the opportunity to get a compliance review by a uniquely qualified expert at an extremely affordable rate.

While compliance issues may often fall into a station's "routine" practices, our system must stay active to ensure fulfillment of CPB and statutory legal requirements, not only to avoid CSG forfeitures based on the Inspector General's audit findings of non-compliance, but also to guard our important mission of serving the public interest and holding the public trust. This is challenging considering all the compliance issues related to the following: the public broadcasting provisions of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended; CPB's Television CSG General Provisions and Eligibility Requirement; and CPB's Financial Reporting Guidelines; and minimum compliance requirements concerning the public broadcasting provisions of the law.

On June 10, 2015, APTS hosted a members-only webinar with Bob Winteringham, a lawyer who worked at CPB and has unrivaled expertise in this area. If you are an APTS member, you may view the webinar and download the presentation slides here.

This offer is only available to APTS members. APTS must be in receipt of your FY 2016 membership pledge form in order to take advantage of this program. The pledge forms were sent to General Managers in early June and they should have them already.

If you are interested in a compliance review with Mr. Winteringham at a deeply discounted rate, please complete this form before July 17, 2015. You will be contacted shortly after that time to discuss your station’s review.
