APTS STATION SURVEY ON SPECTRUM USAGE

APTS Station Survey on Spectrum Usage

CONFIDENTIAL
FOR APTS INTERNAL USE ONLY

In early November, the APTS Board will meet for its annual planning retreat. As you know, the APTS Board is responsible for guiding the APTS staff in establishing and pursuing the association’s agenda in Washington, DC—not just in the legislative and regulatory arenas—but also in terms of defining ourselves as public media in the digital age.

Our Board meeting comes in the midst of the national debate on the future of broadcast television and the Administration’s policy goal of ensuring universal access to wireless broadband and new media. At our retreat, we plan to further develop strategic principles for analyzing proposals around spectrum management, a public media content fund and other potential reforms. Proposals are expected from the FCC by early 2011, in addition to other expected activities. We need the input of our membership to help to inform this vital discussion. To that end, we have prepared a short survey that will provide us with valuable information.

Please visit APTS Station Survey on Spectrum Usage- this survey is now closed.

APTS members will need to log into the APTS website in order to access the survey. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey by October 22—it is critical that we understand your station’s needs and your broadcast strategies so we can effectively be the voice of local stations on the national front.
