Association of Public Television Stations Hires Spencer Stuart to Conduct CEO Search
WASHINGTON – August 18, 2010 – The Association of Public Television Stations (APTS) has hired executive search firm Spencer Stuart to conduct a nationwide search for a new president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Association.
"Spencer Stuart has a very strong understanding of the current media landscape and the issues affecting our industry, having recruited leaders for many other national public broadcasting organizations," said APTS Board Chair Rod Bates. "This fact, along with Spencer Stuart's experience as a world leader in CEO recruitment for more than 50 years, makes them the right search firm to lead our effort to find an outstanding president and CEO for APTS."
Sally Sterling, at Spencer Stuart, will lead this search, with the search committee of the APTS board. This committee is led by co-chairs Polly Anderson, General Manager and CEO of KNME-TV in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Elizabeth Christopherson, President, CEO and Director of The Rita Allen Foundation in Princeton, New Jersey.
Lonna Thompson, who will continue to serve as interim president and CEO until a permanent president and CEO is placed, is also serving on the APTS board search committee.
