USDA Names 2012 Rural Digital Grantees

On October 19, 2012, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced the winners to the Public Television Digital Transition Grant Program, better known as “rural digital”. New grants in the amount of $3.26 million will assist rural public television stations as they complete the digital transition.

A full list of grantees and award amounts can be found in the USDA news release. The following stations are among those selected to receive awards:

  • Capitol Community Broadcasting, Inc. (KTOO) -- $483,000.
  • Vincennes University (WVUT) -- $355,000.
  • Sistema Universitario (Sistema TV) -- $210,590.
  • Idaho Public Television -- $47,870.
  • Kentucky Authority for Educational Television (KET) -- $690,200.
  • University of Central Missouri (KMOS) -- $269,069.
  • Redwood Empire Public Television (KEET) -- $230,154.
  • Maine Public Broadcasting Corporation -- $750,000.
  • Guam Educational Telecommunications (PBSGuam) -- $4,000.
  • West Central Minnesota Educational Television (Pioneer Public Television) -- $224,000.
