NCME Publishes Report on the State of Impact Assessment in Public Media

March 11, 2013

Does your station struggle to effectively measure the impact of their work, and demonstrate their value to key funders and decision makers? If so, you are not alone. To further explore this issue, the National Center for Media Engagement in March 2013 released a report, prepared for by LFA Group: Learning for Action, addressing these concerns on the state of impact assessment in public media. The report titled “Measuring Public Media’s Impact: Challenges and Opportunities” highlights key findings surrounding public media’s ability to demonstrate impact, and provides recommendations for the future.

As NCME points out, it is becoming increasingly common for foundations to support organizations who have clearly demonstrated their impact. Stations should pay particular attention to the call for action, and appendices for strategies and tools stations can act on today to more effectively tell their story.
