  • Higher education.
  • Human services.

  • $10,000 to West Virginia Public Broadcasting, Charleston, WV (2005).
  • $10,000 to West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, Charleston, WV (2005).
  • $5,000 Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences of West Virginia, Charleston, WV (2003).
  • $1,000 to Charleston Ballet, Charleston, WV (2007). 

Fit for public broadcasting: The Foundation recognizes the importance of public media and the arts by supporting local broadcast media and arts-related organizations in their community. The Foundation has made eight grants for public media/arts related projects over the past seven years, totaling $59,500. 

Eligibility: Applications are not accepted. Giving limited to Charleston and the Kanawha Valley, WV. No support for private foundations. No grants to individuals.

How to apply: Unsolicited requests for funds not accepted. Interested organizations would need to find an introduction. The Board meets in May and December.  

Giving range: The average gift for public media projects is approximately $7,500. The Foundation has made gifts as high as $25,000.
