Grant: Digital Distribution Fund (DDF) Round 15
Agency: Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB)
Deadline: May 21, 2010

Description: The purpose of the DDF program is to support public television stations' ability to deliver digital content, provide multicasting and other advanced digital tools, expand services and create efficiencies in operations.

Project types fall into three categories:

  1. Digital Television Transmission Facilities projects construct initial full power digital television transmission facilities or maximize existing facilities from any station that has already received a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) construction permit for a fully authorized full power digital television facility.

  2. Digital Translator Projects convert or replace existing analog transmission translators to/with digital transmission translators from any station that has already received a permit(s) from the FCC including, television translators and television booster facilities.

  3. Digital Centralcasting Projects are new centralcasting projects that control multiple transmitters. Applicants must demonstrate that the requested funding will support only digital master control equipment.

Fit for public broadcasting: CPB maintains the DDF to award grants to CPB‐qualified, non‐commercial educational (NCE) television licensees to assist stations. Stations should consider that this may be the last opportunity to receive DDF funding.

Eligibility: Applicants must be CPB approved and a NCE television licensee to be eligible to apply.
