Advice on Broadband Funding Applications - BTOP, RUS and ARRA

Throughout February, the National Center for Media Engagement (NCME), the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the APTS Grant Center created opportunities for stations to speak with broadband expert Joanne Hovis during a series of special Webinars. 

Joanne Hovis, president of Columbia Telecommunications Corp. and recognized authority on community broadband topics, provided technical and strategic advice to public broadcasting stations applying for Broadband Stimulus funding. During the one-hour Webinars, Ms. Hovis Provided background information on the availability of funds for broadband initiatives in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009; Explained the application requirements of the different broadband initiatives—NTIA's Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP), and the RUS Broadband Initiatives Program (BIP); and answered questions from participants to help them develop and refine their applications, and to maximize their chances for funding.
