WEDU (Tampa, FL) hosted two nights of live gubernatorial debates August 22nd and 23rd. Rob Lorei, host of WEDU’s Florida This Week, moderated the two hour-long debates held two weeks before the primary election. A panel of three journalists from statewide newspapers, including the Tampa Tribune and Miami Herald, posed questions for the candidates. Candidates were also allowed the opportunity to question each other, as well as address issues from the studio audience and emails. WEDU partners for this program were Florida Public Broadcasting, the Florida Press Association and Leadership Florida.
